Keep Your Pitch Out of the Trash

I loved Ilya Pozin’s May 16 post on Forbes titled Keep Your Pitch Out Of The Trash. Ilya was writing for the broader sales and marketing community at large, but his ideas apply directly to trade shows and events.

So many staffers make the mistake of not learning anything about an attendee before delivering an elevator pitch. Or creating one-sided monologues. Or not presenting from the POV of the customer.

Over the years, I’ve suggested several different models for a successful elevator pitch. Take a look at Ilya’s. His four step process is simple and practical. It should be required reading for every event professional.
