What’s the #1 New Year’s Resolution in the US? Yup. You can probably guess numbers 2 through 5, as well.
This reminds us that we all have more in common than we think. The same is true for tradeshow marketers across every industry—we all share the same dreams, goals, and challenges.
So I thought it would be fun to take the Top 5 New Year’s Resolutions in the US and apply them to our mutual marketing goals. Feel free to add your own!
Top Five Tradeshow Marketing Resolutions for 2015.
#1: Lose Weight: Get rid of your exhibit program’s excess “baggage” and revitalize it with new interactive engagement ideas. Doing the same thing year after year will not yield new results.
#2: Stop smoking: Help your onsite staff to get rid of their “booth bad habits” and train them to sell more effectively on the tradeshow floor.
#3: Exercise More: Strengthen your marketing message by integrating all aspects of your marketing, sales, social media, and corporate mission initiatives. This “marketing cross-training” will yield exponential results.
#4: Spend Less: Begin planning your tradeshow programs earlier so you can spend smarter. Plan the work and work the plan.
#5: Fall in Love: Fall in love with your target audience so you can better understand their top-of-mind concerns. This will help you create more focused and relevant engagement programs to communicate your message.
In the immortal words of Oprah Winfrey, “Cheers to the New Year, and another chance to get it right.”
